Plaintiff Sandra Hernden brings this 42 U.S.C. § 1983 action and First Amendment retaliation claim against the Chippewa Valley School District and two of its board members, Frank Bednard and Elizabeth Pyden, for whom the district court granted summary judgment. For the reasons set forth below, we AFFIRM the judgment of the district court. I. BACKGROUND Plaintiff Sandra Hernden was a police officer at the City of Harper Woods Police Department who had children attending school in the Chippewa Valley School District.
