While awaiting his arraignment at the Monroe County Jail in October 2020, Ronnie Gibson, Jr., killed himself. Gibson’s father, as the representative of his son’s estate, filed this § 1983 action against several officers and the County, claiming that they violated Gibson’s due process rights by acting with deliberate indifference to the risk that he would commit suicide.
